We are a team of experienced people coming from the IT, the biotech and the healthcare areas. We are a multi-cultural international team from three continents. We established a startup company and are developing a secure IT platform aimed to connect patients of chronic diseases to researchers, and to accelerate research by the use of Artificial Intelligence. Our first area of interest is ME/CFS (https://www.cdc.gov/me-cfs/about/index.html), not only because it’s still a modern days medical mystery, with millions of people suffering worldwide, but also because two people in our team have this disease, so it’s easier for us to develop something that will have a positive impact.
Our first element in this project is a wearable sensor, a smartwatch with ad-hoc sensors and a customized software, able to monitor two crucial parameters: Orthostatic Intolerance and Thermostatic Instability. Those symptoms are common in about 90% of ME/CFS patients, as defined by ICC or CCC criteria
Once we are able to monitor the severity of the disease and able to recognize trends, we can enable long-term monitoring, thereby helping researchers in validating effective treatments.
